Sports With Sticks

Bringing You Baseball and Golf

Handling Annoying Players

Well, just like any other sports, there are always players that can get under your skin.  They do something that just doesn’t rub you right and it affects your game.  Here are all the big ones.

The Talker

 Tiger quiet

He’s not a bad guy, really.  His only problem is that he talks through the entire round even when other people are hitting.  While this may be acceptable within a group of friends playing golf, any time you’re playing with a stranger you should be courteous.  On the other hand though, if somebody’s talking is bothering you, you can generally do one of two things.  You can either tell them to stop like the intelligent human being you are, or you can continue to let it bother you and expect them to figure out what they’re doing wrong.  It’s really not that hard.

The Cheater

Cheaters are again in every sport.  The only way to deal with them is by calling them out on it.  Call them when they do it and odds are they won’t cheat when they play with you anymore.  Simple as that!

And last but not least,

The Monster

The Monster

The monster is in my opinion the worst golfer to play with.  The guy that gets so angry that he breaks and throws clubs and really just makes everybody’s experience on the golf course completely miserable.  The problem is that there’s nothing you can do to stop him without making him angry.  The only solution is to not play with him.  If you’re paired with him in a tournament though, odds are you’re probably stuck with him!

That’s it for this week!  Remember not to be any of the people that I just mentioned.  Play the game with class and have fun out there!
